Project: California State Parks Leo Carrillo
Location: Malibu, California
Description: Wildscape Restoration, Inc. worked with the California Department of Parks and Recreation to perform invasive species removal and treatment at Leo Carrillo State Beach in Malibu California. Wildscape provided a one-time dethatching of built-up invasive plants on 3 acres of coastal bluff at Leo Carillo State Park which was previously impacted by the Woolsey Fire in 2018. Non-native mustards and non-native grasses such as brome have since become very dominant in this area. The treatment and removal of herbaceous and woody invasive species will encourage the regrowth of native species. Wildscape provided a 4-person crew to perform the removal of these non-native species by using a combination of chemical treatments such as foliar application and mechanical equipment like weedwhackers.
